China is changing and changing fast.
Photographer Weng Fen has captured some of the most amazing signs of change with his “Sitting on the Wall” series, which were taken between 2001 and 2010 in Haikou, a once-remote tropical island known as the Chinese Hawaii.
Check out this incredible set of images that chart the rise of tall buildings on the skyline and the gradual loss of greenery.
The first photo in the series, above, was taken in 2001. Check out the images below to see how dramatically it’s changed.
2003 – Here they’ve added a red and yellow advertising sign to the top of the brown building (right of centre).
2007 – This is where it really starts to change!
2010 – Wow!
